To the editor: In the September issue, Wallis and colleagues (1) describe the association of polyarthritis and neutropenia associated with circulating large granular lymphocytes. They state, "Polyarthritis has been described in only 3 patients." However, they have not accounted for two previous reports, namely, a patient described by Hooks and colleagues (2) and one reported by us (3). While studying our patient, we realized that this disease is a new and interesting entity, yet to be explored. We named it "RATS" syndrome (rheumatoid arthritis and T-suppressor lymphocytosis with neutropenia) and stressed its similarity to Felty's syndrome (3).
