The literature of internal medicine and its specialties continues to grow exponentially, potentially confounding all who try to keep up with it. To aid students, physicians, and librarians in their efforts to select appropriate texts and reference works, the American College of Physicians (ACP) has published at 3-year intervals since 1973 a selective list of publications, "A Library for Internists" (1-6). In coordination with the appearance of the new edition of the College's Medical Knowledge Self-Assessment Program IX (MKSAP IX), the seventh edition of the College's Library for Internists is presented here.
