To the Editor: McAllster and coworkers (1) recently reported the cases of four patients with Lyme disease associated with complete heart block. We wish to describe another case. A 28-year-old nun who had previously been healthy was admitted to the hospital on 21 September 1988 after 1 week of exertional dyspnea, rhythm disturbances, and several syncopal episodes with no associated convulsions. She had been bitten by a tick above the left knee at the end of July 1988. Three days later, she had noticed an erythematous rash surrounding the bite, which had increased in size and cleared in the center.
