The object of the author has been to give a digest of what is known in neurology without stressing polemic material or detailing case reports. References to literature have been more or less consistently omitted from the text. The work is based mainly on personal teaching and clinical experience, and, therefore, represents in a great measure an individual approach to bedside neurology. The author hopes that the personal touch will make up for many of its omissions and defects. For the benefit of those who would pursue the subject farther the author has given at the end of each chapter
