To any one interested in coincidences the fact that in different parts of the world during the last year four independent Congresses or Symposia on Rheumatic Fever were announced may seem rather remarkable. The fact is interesting enough in indicating the important position held in the medical mind by this disease. The reasons for this are obvious. In the first place is the wide-spread interest in the propaganda for the prevention of heart-disease which has advertised rheumatic fever as one of the most important etiological factors of cardiac disorders.
