The majority of textbook and journal articles dealing with duodenal conditions are responsible for the commonly held opinion that duodenal ulcer is the most important and practically the only pathologic condition of this organ requiring any serious consideration. This book discusses and demonstrates a number of duodenal conditions that have received but slight recognition in medical literature. There are other duodenal conditions, due to congenital disturbances of development, which are equally disabling, nearly as dangerous to life, and perhaps even more common than duodenal ulcer.
