Mr. President, ladies and gentlemen: Before entering upon the subject of my convocation address I feel indebted to give you the assurance of my deep and respectful appreciation. It is a great honour not only to myself, but also to our old medical school of Vienna that one of its younger members was selected this year by the Board of Regents of the American College of Physicians to be its guest at the Annual Meeting and to deliver the Convocation Address.
