It is the purpose of this paper to discuss the following aspects of the problem of undulant fever in the continental United States: (1) its incidence and distribution, (2) its origin and (3) the best methods for its detection.
The incidence and distribution of undulant fever in the continental United States, so far as this can be discovered from the literature and by correspondence with state health departments, is shown by the accompanying spot map (Fig. 1). Before discussing this map it must be explained, first, that no reports were received from the
