The author has ventured to compile a textbook of general information upon medical diagnosis from the standpoint of the rapidly disappearing general practitioner. The book aims to cover the field of diagnostics in internal medicine. It gives instructions on the various methods of examining the patient, descriptions of normal findings, enumeration of pathologic conditions with the normal and pathologic physical signs, and, whenever possible, the reasons for such signs. The signs and interpretations are discussed from the viewpoints of the medical student, the general practitioner and the specialist.
