In a previous paper these workers discussed the serum protein values in vomiting of pregnancy. They stated that, in general, a high value for serum protein meant a favorable prognosis, and a relatively easy treatment. But in a few cases, although the ultimate outcome was successful, the course of treatment offered difficulties. Their final study leads them to conclude that the long series of observations carried on by them shows that four factors must be considered in the treatment of vomiitng of pregnancy:—starvation, dehydration, hepatic dysfunction and neurosis.
