The writers of this book have had the advantage of many years' experience in clinical, pathological and teaching work in the Tropics. They are convinced that there is a real need for a small work on tropical medicine which will contain only such details of microscopical technique as the general practitioner can carry out in his hospital or practice, and will be devoted chiefly to the recognition and management of the diseases which are commonly met with in tropical and subtropical countries.
