This second edition has been fully revised and enlarged. The methods of examination are described in greater detail than in the first edition. The essentials of the diagnosis are summarized in a few pages, illustrated by diagrams and references to the plates. This greater attention to methods of examination is considered necessary by the authors, who feel that because the diagnosis depends essentially upon roentgenologic methods, the ordinary physician is not sufficiently experienced in such methods and needs detailed descriptions of methods.
