This is an outstanding work done by a man whose wide clinical experience and intimate association with his father, Harold Gifford, have given him a firm basis for reliable opinion. The book deals with the various therapeutic measures in a clear concise manner, giving his personal clinical experiences where there are conflicting opinions. The more recent advances are discussed giving special technique and illustrations for procedures not yet commonly followed. The section devoted to anesthesia is complete and well illustrated. Drugs are discussed from the standpoint of preparation, properties and administration, and those most commonly used are listed in a
