The first three volumes of The Practitioner's Library of Medicine and Surgery dealt, respectively, with Anatomy and Physiology as Applied to Practical Medicine, The Technic of Physical and Laboratory Examination in Clinical Medicine, and Practice of Medicine. The present volume (IV, Nontraumatic Surgery) contains sections contributed by twenty writers most of whom have been chosen because of special interest and experience in the fields which they have been asked to treat.
