It is very logical that these two books should be reviewed together as they form an excellent symposium on the science and art of psychoanalysis. Both books are up-to-date revisions of Freud's work which made its first appearance in 1900 and which aroused the scientific world to a more constructive understanding of the workings of the human mind. Dr. Brill rightfully says in his introduction: "No work on psychology worthy of its name can now afford to ignore Freud's theories. . . . They have exerted the greatest influences on the mental sciences and have practically rewritten them."
