In this book the author tells about the great specialists in women's diseases, beginning with Soranus of Ephesus who lived in the Second Century. The contributions of any gynecologists or obstetricians now living have been omitted as has all material published since 1900. There has been no attempt to make this volume encyclopedial in type but rather the author has exercised the right of personal choice in selecting those men to write about who in his opinion have made the most important contributions to the development of gynecology and obstetrics.
