This volume is divided into two parts, the first dealing with blood pressure and the second with nephritis. In the first part the physiologic dynamics controlling blood pressure, methods of estimating arterial tension, tests for functional efficiency of the circulation, blood pressure as applied to life insurance, the effects of certain everyday habits and daily routine upon the blood pressure, hypotension and hypertension are discussed. The author points out that moderately elevated blood pressures remaining at the same level do not have the same significance as those which progressively become higher. He classifies cases of hypertension according to the elevation
