This volume is not an exhaustive treatise on the subject matter of the title. A classification of diseases of the peripheral arteries is presented and methods of examination and diagnosis are described. Thromboangiitis obliterans is discussed at some length. The author considers the use of tobacco, especially cigarette smoking, to be a very important factor in the progress of the disease.
