It is the purpose of this presentation to add some further evidence in regard to the occurrence of functional bundle-branch block. I shall attempt to do so by a partial review of the literature, the presentation of a case report and consideration of some of the mechanisms which may be responsible for this abnormality. Strictly speaking, the term "functional bundle-branch block" should be restricted to those instances in which there is no organic basis either temporary or permanent for the production of the conduction disturbance.
