A review of the seventh edition of Ballenger's "Diseases of the Nose, Throat and Ear" shows several valuable improvements in this excellent book. The anatomical descriptions are clear, concise yet thorough, and so well written that one easily gets a good mental picture of both the gross and microscopic structures described. The discussion and outline of treatment, both medical and surgical, are brought up to date and cover the field in an excellent manner. The chapters on Ear, covering the anatomy, functions, diseases and treatments, both medical and surgical, are the greatest improvement in this edition over former ones. The
