The present day conception of the functional activity of the renal unit has changed the views of the clinician in regard to renal threshold for glucose. It is now believed that the glucose content of glomerular fluid approximates that of the plasma of arterial blood and that in a normal kidney under ordinary conditions, practically all of the glucose is reabsorbed in the first portion of the tubule.
