It is my pleasure today to speak to you concerning some of the problems which have to do with the everyday care of the patient sick with one or another of the acute contagious diseases. In this presentation I will not attempt to review the recent literature on the subject and will not endeavor to give you the last word in the experimental problems nor the laboratory studies of these diseases; I will simply attempt to give you a few of the diagnostic procedures which I have found of value and to discuss succinctly some of the methods of treatment
