This Annual Session of the American College of Physicians, this Convocation is a significant demonstration of the determining philosophy upon which the College is founded. Others may speak of the education and training in the professions of religion, teaching, engineering, the law, business, etc., but in the profession of medicine, and particularly in the medical specialties of which our College is a noteworthy illustration, it seems desirable to discuss from time to time certain outstanding features.
