This new and revised edition is better arranged than previous ones, is readily readable and well up to date. The two new chapters on the relation between the endocrine, vegetative-nervous and hypothalamico-pituitary systems are too brief to accomplish more than stimulation of interest. The chapter on the mechanism of uterine bleeding is an excellent presentation of this subject in a short space. The entire book is characterized by an absence of extraneous material. The increasing importance of the use of progesterone in endocrine therapy is well brought out. However, only brief mention is made of the gonadotropic hormones. The physician
