The present text is the third edition of this work on the fundamentals of the elements of physical diagnosis. The author in his introduction, emphasizes the importance of the induction method of learning physical diagnosis and points particularly to its value in the early diagnosis of tuberculosis. The years since the first edition of this book was written have witnessed the ascendancy of the roentgen-ray in the early diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis and have lessened the importance of emphasis on physical diagnosis.
