This small book is basically an appeal for an increase in the frequency of the breast feeding of infants. The advantages of this natural method of feeding are stressed throughout. Frequent comparisons between the udder of the cow and the breasts of the mother are made and form the basis for pre- and post-natal breast care. The author advocates several questionable forms of therapy, such as the use of thyroid extract in the torporous infant to encourage the infant to take the offered feedings. The initial chapter, "The Mind of the Mother," is very well written and is highly recommended
