This book is "meant to serve the need of the medical student who seeks a more concise treatise on this subject in preparation for a higher or qualifying examination." The text contains something about most cardiac diseases and conditions. The sections on physical diagnosis and phonocardiography are generally more complete than are the clinical descriptions, which often seem too sketchy. Acute rheumatic fever, Friedreich's disease, and myotonia atrophica are covered in two pages each. The roentgen-rays are excellent in selection and reproduction.
