It is indeed an honor to be given the opportunity to address this distinguished audience as one of the former Research Fellows of the College who have been asked by your President to report on the way in which their work has been influenced by the advantages derived from the tenure of a Research Fellowship of the American College of Physicians.
My Fellowship year, which had been postponed from 1940 to 1946 because of war service with the Royal Canadian Air Force, proved to be an ideal transition period from military to civilian research, and provided me with an excellent
