The author, who is Professor of Cardiology in the University of Manchester in England, is perhaps best known to American readers for having joined auctorial hands across the sea with Dr. John T. King in the coauthorship of Principles and Practice of Cardiology.
For the past several years, in order to bridge the uncomfortable gap between preclinical and clinical studies, a series of 70 lectures has been given to students at Manchester during their first six months in the wards.
