It is difficult to do full justice to a book of this scope in a brief review, but it seems in general that this is a rather better text than others of comparable size and range. It is for the most part well written by an impressive group of distinguished contributors. The book has a distinctly Philadelphian flavor, as nearly half of its eighty contributors hail from that city.
As this text is primarily intended for students and general practitioners, a real effort has been made to present the clinical aspects of disease with clarity and in detail. This has
