This concise volume contains much useful information concerning congenital heart disease. The author first discusses the embryology, etiology and incidence of congenital cardiac disorders, and the pathogenesis of cyanosis and clubbing. The essential clinical and laboratory findings in a wide range of such disorders are then presented. The text is quite complete and well-organized, and the bibliography useful. It is therefore regrettable that this book contains no reproductions of electrocardiograms or roentgenograms, for this limits its usefulness, since such studies are very important in the diagnosis of congenital cardiac conditions.
