The simple clinician cannot approach a text on electrolytes with anything but trepidation. At best the subject is poorly understood, confused and technical; and too often one finds that the author of an abstruse subject is indulging in an academic and polysyllabic exercise for his own satisfaction. Not so Dr. Weisberg. It is a joy to find in these early pages that the author of a complex treatise appreciates the virtue of simplicity and sets out to be the reader's ally. The result is that this book is surprisingly easy to read.
