The writing of a concise text of the diseases of the heart and peripheral arteries is a difficult task. The author is fully aware, to judge from the preface of his book, that the blending of the newly gained knowledge of circulatory pathophysiology and clinical diagnosis and management has to be achieved to prove it useful. The text is addressed to the physician as well as the student.
