This book presents the highly detailed report of the Committee on Anticoagulants of the American Heart Association. It includes 1031 cases, of which 442 served as controls and 589 were treated with anticoagulants by responsible investigators in 16 coöperating hospitals. Patients admitted on an odd day of the month were started on anticoagulant therapy while those admitted on an even day served as controls. The diagnostic criteria and the anticoagulant program to be followed were carefully prescribed and a standard reporting procedure adopted.
