This relatively short monograph is presented in a terse, succinct but eminently readable style. In his preface the author well states that in so controversial a field as that of thromboembolism, many crucial decisions in treatment must be based on presumptive evidence which can only be assessed clinically. It is important then periodically to assemble, analyze and crystallize accrued evidence to date to form a working hypothesis in therapy.
