The old-time, beloved physician, carrying his black satchel, relieving and comforting the sick, dispensing hope and courage along with his medicines, is passing or has passed from the scene. For him, the practice of medicine was almost his whole life, a life marked by independence, selflessness, devotion, understanding and timelessness.
