The author's stated objective is to present an integrated concept of toxoplasmosis in man and animals. To accomplish this he has reviewed over 1,000 articles in the world literature and has drawn heavily upon his own experience with toxoplasmosis over a period of more than seven years. The first chapter, an excellent historical review of the major developments in the study of toxoplasmosis, provides the perspective and setting for the subsequent chapters.
A logical sequence of subjects is presented, beginning with a consideration of the organism and ending with discussion of therapy. He appropriately describes in detail the laboratory tests
