This volume of papers on various aspects of hemopoiesis is a direct outgrowth of an international conference on this subject held in London in 1960. First among the subjects covered is the evolution of the lymphomyeloid tissues, with special reference to the use of radioisotope techniques by the Yoffey school. This is followed by the stimulating original studies of the Brookhaven school, using tritiated thymidine, and embodying the important contributions of Cronkite and co-workers.
