This symposium is an ambitious undertaking when one considers that an entire symposium could easily be devoted to either inflammation or connective tissue, or, in fact, to an aspect of either. The extent of the symposium is evidenced by the fact that close to one hundred and fifty participants were involved, and approximately one hundred and twenty papers were presented.
