The motif of these volumes, as stated by the author, is correlation of functional and clinical manifestations, on the one hand, with pathological anatomy on the other. This objective is pursued principally by the method of case presentations in which succinct accounts of relevant clinical findings, together with physiologic, roentgenographic, and electrocardiographic data that seem appropriate to the occasion, prepare the way for description and illustration of the lesions.
