Among pathologists concerned with teaching medical students, there appears to be general dissatisfaction with the textbooks currently available in the field. This probably accounts for the recent increase in the publication of new texts. This new edition of Anderson's text appears to be so acceptable in every way that it may help fill the current need for an effective textbook of pathology.
The fourth edition preserves the Anderson tradition, in which each aspect of the field of pathology is treated by a separate author who is acknowledged to have a special interest and a contribution to make in that area.
