In writing The Physician in Industry, Dr. Shepard has performed a distinct service, especially to those contemplating work in the field of industrial medicine. In his inimitable and gentle way he has succeeded in producing a most readable book in which interesting style does not detract from the important message it brings.
The role of the physician in industry has been clearly defined in terms of his relationships with management, labor, and the local medical fraternity. This provides an effective starting point for a review of a number of problems directly related to industrial medicine in which the physician's responsibilities
