Twenty-two investigators of the leukocyte, from Europe and the United States, met in London, March 7, 1961, to present and discuss seven papers concerned with the function of leukocytes in tissues, immunologic function of lymphocytes, the possible role of the lymphocyte as a stem cell, and metabolic activities of leukocytes in general and as related to phagocytosis. These proceedings contain some excellent review material, selected reports of current investigations, and interesting speculations and arguments.
