This attractive volume of joint Anglo-American providence sets a very high standard of excellence for a book of its useful type. It seeks, in the word of its editor, "to provide as comprehensive a picture as possible of the trends and salients on an advancing front rather than to produce a comprehensive book on Endocrinology."
The physician who wishes to inform himself of developments in endocrinology which are particularly affecting medical practice will find himself well served by this volume. It would be hard to improve, for example, on the chapters on primary hyperparathyroidism by McSwiney, on the surgical treatment
