Of eighteen chapters, five may interest physicians. These chapters are "Parasite Chemotherapy," "Drugs Affecting the Blood Pressure and Vasomotor Tone," "Renal Pharmacology," "Pharmacological Control of Adrenocortical and Gonadal Secretions," and "Toxicology: Inorganic."
The review of renal drugs is especially useful for its survey of the newer diuretics. The endocrine review and Peart's on cardiovascular drugs overlap a bit in their account of renin—angiotensin—aldosterone relations.
The attention of specialists in pulmonary disease might be called to the review of cadmium poisoning and the consequent pulmonary emphysema; and the same chapter ("Toxicology: Inorganic") summarizes the use of chelating agents for the treatment
