This second edition has approximately twice the number of pages as the first and contains several new chapters covering some topics omitted before. Eighteen authors have contributed with one or two authors writing individual chapters. Although this scheme insures that the various aspects of electrodiagnosis and electromyography will be covered by authors particularly informed on their subject, it results in a lack of cohesiveness and in considerable repetition. A proper perspective on the merits and limitations of the various techniques is difficult to obtain, especially for the novice in electrodiagnosis.
