In Tropical Radiology Howard Middlemiss has presented for the first time a comprehensive reference work on the radiologic manifestations of diseases peculiar to the tropical areas of the world. The need for such a book, he notes in his preface, stems both from the failure of standard radiologic texts to cover such material adequately and from the dependence of clinicians, without specific training in radiology, on source material for the interpretation of roentgen findings in the remote medical outposts of the tropics.
