Doctor Wilson has given us a scholarly presentation of current and historical thought relating to intestinal absorption. His text is well illustrated. The graphs, charts, and tables are simple and easily understandable for the most part, though some tables, such as tables 57, 58, and 59, are difficult to read because large amounts of data are crowded into too little space. The bibliography is extensive and cites most of the important literature of the past several decades. All of the classes of compounds and substances known to be absorbed by the intestine are covered.
