The preface to the third edition of Dr. Wolff's book and the publisher's brochure suggest that the volume has been extensively revised and that the approach to teaching electrocardiography has been modified and improved by applying the principles of vector-cardiography. Unfortunately, this broad aim is never fully realized in the text, and striking differences between this edition and the previous one are not immediately apparent. Some new material has been included, but the approach is essentially a conventional one that does not clearly define the interrelationship between the clinical electrocardiogram and the vectorcardiogram or emphasize the differences between the equivalent
