As a manual of technique with details of methods and some clinical and pathologic information, the sixth edition of this well-known book will find a place on the laboratory shelf; it will be useful to the student technologist struggling to absorb the work of a clinical laboratory in a brief one-year internship. The background information and suggestions for the laboratory investigation of clinical problems are quite inadequate for the internist but this book should serve him well as an occasional reference work on methodology.
